Center for Jewish History
The Center for Jewish History emerged from a vision of a central repository for the historical and cultural legacy of the Jewish people. The Center—the largest repository of such holdings outside of Israel—serves the worldwide academic and general communities. Foundation support went to hire staff for the Outreach Department.

Congregation Beth Simchat Torah
Congregation Beth Simchat Torah is a synagogue in New York City for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender communities and their friends and family. This synagogue is committed to building a kehillah kedoshah, a sacred community, based on the love of Jewish people, passion for social justice, prayer and study. Funding supported the Cooperberg-Rittmaster internship program.

Hadassah, Women’s Zionist Organization of America
Hadassah enhances the quality of American Jewish life through its education and Zionist youth programs. Funding went to support the Leadership Academy and the Training Wheels for Adults Program.

The Shefa Fund
The Shefa Fund encourages American Jews to use their tzedakah (charitable resources) to create a more just society, and, in the process, to transform Jewish life so that it becomes more socially conscious and spiritually invigorating. The Shefa Fund advises on socially responsible grant-making, low-income community investing and funder education. List grants supported a diverse range of creative initiatives in the areas of rabbinical education, youth outreach, inter-marriage, and Internet activities. Funding in this area also supported the Torah of Money Program and the Shefa/Calvert Alliance.

The Society for the Advancement of Judaism
Balancing respect for tradition and open intellectual inquiry, the Society for the Advancement of Judaism combines a center for Jewish study with an active intergenerational community. Funding went to create and strengthen an intergenerational Jewish community and for Early Childhood Clinic, Shabbat to Go and Jewish Discovery Classroom.
